Uri KTHR’s Sant Pere Pescador looks out from the former fishermen’s guild building beside the port of L’Ametlla de Mar, Spain. Completed in 2024 as part of the town’s Efímurs mural project, the spray-painted Saint Peter occupies a façade closely tied to the people he is said to protect: the building houses the town’s fishing interpretation centre.

The figure has a white beard and a yellow robe that recalls fishermen’s coats. He holds two keys, while a papal ring—known as the Fisherman’s Ring—adds another attribute of the apostle. The robe brings the religious figure into the visual language of the working port without changing the symbols by which he is recognised.

The choice of wall was not incidental. According to local broadcaster La Cala RTV, the façade had been earmarked for a mural during Efímurs, but the original proposal did not meet with the approval of the fishermen’s guild, which owns the building. The commission subsequently went to Uri KTHR, an artist from L’Ametlla de Mar. The mural was finished by early July 2024, after the festival’s initial programme.

The keys carry a second, more personal story. La Cala RTV reports that they refer to keys exchanged between KTHR and Brazilian artist Pedro Filite, who had originally been assigned the wall. In Sant Pere Pescador, a familiar emblem of Saint Peter also marks a connection between the two artists.

The mural can be found by the port on L’Ametlla de Mar’s Efímurs route. Its placement gives the image a direct relationship to the town’s fishing history: Saint Peter stands on the former guild building, facing the water.
